Use of Club Equipment:

Fencing equipment is expensive, and the DFC is fortunate to have a reasonable amount of gear for use by its fencers. Fencers who are beginners may use club equipment for the first three months, after which they are expected to purchase their own weapons, glove, mask, jacket, plastron, etc. In particular, the club does supply electric weapons for regular DFC fencers. Electric scoring boxes, spools are available for use by all club fencers during club times. Note that club equipment may only be used by club fencers.

Please handle the equipment carefully. If something breaks, please put it aside and inform the coach in order to be replaced. Just about everything can be fixed by the DFC, although this is very time consuming and we rely on club fencers to by gentle and careful with all equipments. Most gear is easy to fix, and anyone can learn how to do it – we are happy to teach interested parties.

Equipment

PBT was established in 1991 as a family company. The World Championship organized in Hungary in this year, gave us the courage to start this business. Several foreign fencing companies were selling their equipment on that competition but none was Hungarian. At this time, there was no firm in Hungary, that sold fencing equipment therefore this was a great chance for us. The founder and technical director of the company Mr. Imre Kovacs was the member of the National Junior and Senior foil fencing team. When he finished his sport career he started to work as jury and the member of presidency of Hungarian Fencing Association.
Our company is led by the managing director, sales director, technical director and 45 employer help us in production and sales.

In 1991 our first name was Párbaj Bt. When the Párbaj Bt. became limited company a new name was chosen; PBT in order not to change the popular name. By now PBT as company name has become popular in the world among fencers.

In the beginning, our purpose was to provide fencing equipment to all Hungarian fencers. The Hungarian industry was suitable to produce these kinds of products. Firstly the shoes and the gloves became popular among fencers. Later we developed our own styled fencing equipment. Now we are able to provide all personal equipment and technical tools to our customers. Soon, not only Hungarians got interested in our products but also fencers from other countries.
The Hungarian fencing sport has been successful for many years. Hungarian coaches have been teaching fencing all over the world. About 12-15 world competitions take place in Hungary every year. All this made it possible that the PBT products became well known all over the world.

The PBT Hungary Kft has been the official supplier of the Hungarian Fencing Federation from the second period of the Sydney Olympic Games. We are proud that individual Olympic champions were born in PBT equipment : Bence Szabó (men's sabre) and Tímea Nagy (women's epee). Our company sponsors many young talented and worldwide famous fencers. Some of them: Aida Mohamed, Ildikó Mincza, Attila Fekete, Zsolt Nemcsik, Orsolya Nagy, Keeth Smart (USA).

We have many dealers in different countries e.g. in France, Germany, Spain, Poland, Russia, UK, Turkey, India, Romania, Denmark, Thailand, , USA, Singapore etc. The number of our dealers have been increasing year by year.

Our slogan is: "FROM CHILDREN TO ADULT FROM BEGINNER TO CHAMPION", we would like to offer good quality, safe and available fencing equipment to everybody. Approximately 90% of our products are made in Hungary in our factory of safety and high quality raw materials. Under production process we completely stress on quality control. We also secure our products reparation and any other services. All of our products which have specifications by different organizations are manufactured according to CE (Certificate Europe) and FIE requirements. It means that all equipment are strictly tested by some international accredited laboratories whose have many specifications on materials. We are proud that our products are highly competitive worldwide fencing equipment.

Some examples:
PBT was one of the main supplier of the Junior and Cadet Word Championships in Plovdiv year 2004. World Champs were organized on 16 pcs of our pistes.
Many Olympic, World and European championship titles were born in PBT equipment.

Outstanding results at the Olympic Games, Athens 2004:
- Timea Nagy became second time Olympic Champion in PBT equipment.
- Zsolt Nemcsik won silver medal in men's sabre individual in PBT equipment.
- This was the first time when sabrists had to wear transparent mask. More than 50% of the participants were used PBT transparent masks.
- First women's sabre individual Olympic Champion Mariel Zagunis (USA) and men's sabre individual winner Aldo Montano (ITA) were won in PBT transparent mask.

Outstanding results at the Olympic Games, Beijing 2008:

- Sponsored Ukrainian women's sabre team became Olympic Champion

- Sponsored individuals achieved silver medals:
